Escalera is an after school program that follows students entering their freshman year and follows them through their senior year, providing guidance and support through their experiences as  first-generation students to prepare for success after high school. 


Escalera, meaning stairs, builds students both personally and academically as they explore career paths, prepare for college, and develop leadership and technology skills! This program includes:

Since 2014, our Escalera program has served 230 youth from three local high schools and had 140+  scholars walk the stage at graduation! Our Escalera graduates have received over $500,000 in scholarships from various public and private sources.


We are working out of our Jefferson Parish site and are expanding to Orleans Parish in the near future!
